1. Round Trip River Transportation

Truckee River Taxi can pick up your group and your gear at your house or hotel and bring you to the river with a return ride home when you are done...no parking, no traffic, no hassles. Just call or email us to set up in advance - it's surprisingly inexpensive and nobody from your group has to worry about driving. This is also a great option for people who plan to float with the commercial raft rental companies in Tahoe City, too.

OR 2. Morning Shuttle

You drive 1 car to the river, drop off your gear and your group at the launch area, drive to the bottom and park your car on the side of the road close to the River Ranch (but not in their parking lot). Truckee River Taxi will shuttle you to the top to rejoin your group. You'll be "floating back to your car." This is a great option for those of you with kayaks and paddleboards so you can unload them at the top and have your car on hand when you get to the bottom. Give us a ring in the morning and we'll be sure to have a van waiting for you in the River Ranch parking lot.

OR 3. Afternoon Shuttle

You drive 1 car to Tahoe City, park and launch. At the end of your float look for the blue Truckee River Taxi vans in the parking lot of the River Ranch by the patio exit. Your group can load up and get a ride back to your car. No reservations necessary, just look for the blue vans in the River Ranch parking lot.

Rafting the Truckee River is a favorite Tahoe pastime. The Truckee River is a public California waterway and it's FREE TO FLOAT! So float the Truckee River like a local - on your own raft or innertube! Borrow a raft or innertube from a friend (or buy a cheap one in Tahoe City), pack a cooler, and float the Truckee River for FREE! Truckee River Taxi will be at the bottom of the 5-mile float to take you back to your car parked in Tahoe City (or park at the bottom and we'll shuttle you to the top).

For people who prefer to utilize one of the commercial rafting companies in Tahoe City, Truckee River Taxi can get you from your house or hotel to the river and return you home at the end of your float. It doesn't really matter how you float the river, the point is to enjoy the river in the way that works best for you.

While transportation is part of the per-person rental price for the commercial companies, Public Rafters didn't have a reliable or inexpensive way of getting back to their cars after they floated the Truckee River...UNTIL NOW! Truckee River Taxi is dedicated to giving Public Rafters an inexpensive option for safe and reliable transportation when they float the Truckee River.

Our shuttle vans run several times per hour (as they are loaded up) between the River Ranch and Tahoe City. Our full-size, 8-passenger shuttle vans have plenty of room to load up your coolers, deflated rafts, innertubes and dogs.

Anybody can easily hop in our shuttle vans at the end of the 5-mile float and get an affordable ride back to the public parking areas in Tahoe City.
